Ola Academy's Georgia Pre-K
Georgia Pre-K 2015-2016 School Year:
Children four years of age on or before September 1st of the current school year who are Georgia residents are eligible to attend Georgia's Pre-K program.
Open enrollment date for the 2015-2016 School year is scheduled for Monday, March 23rd, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. Applications will not be accepted before this time. Parents and/or guardians must apply in person, we can not accept applications via email, fax or phone. On the day of enrollment, you will need to bring a BIRTH CERTIFICATE and CURRENT UTILITY BILL in order to begin the enrollment process. Children are welcome, but not required to be present for enrollment.
Tours of the building and the Georgia Pre-K class will not be accessible on the day of open enrollment. Our current Pre-K class is still in session, and tours at this time would cause interruptions and distraction to the teachers and children in the room. However, we will schedule an Open House and Orientation in July to welcome you and your child to their new Pre-K class. You may also come and visit us over the summer when Pre-K is over to tour the classroom and building.
In-House enrollment will begin Tuesday, March 10th, 2015, 6:00 a.m. for children currently enrolled in our three year old program.
Required Documents for Pre-K:
- Social Security Card (a copy is fine)
- Immunization Form (GA 3231)
- Eye, Ear, and Dental Record (GA form 3300
- Pre-K Registration Application (provided by Ola Academy)
We will accept copies of the documents, they do not have to be originals. Enrollment is on a first come first serve basis.
Pre-K Program Schedule: A complete school calendar with holidays and school breaks will be included in a packet at Open House scheduled for August.
What time does pre-k start and end? Ola Academy's Georgia Pre-K class begins at 8:00 am and ends at 2:30 pm. If you need to bring your child in before pre-k starts or if you need to keep them at the center after pre-k ends, we have a before and after care program that you may sign them up for.
Before and After Care: If you will need before and after care, the cost is $65 a week, and an annual $45 registration fee. The program includes breakfast, afternoon snack, and before and after care from 6am to 8am and 2:30pm to 6:30pm.
How much does the Georgia Pre-K program cost? The Georgia Pre-k program is funded by the Georgia Lottery. However, the cost of food is not included in the funding, so there is a weekly $20 lunch fee to parents.
What curriculum is used in the Georgia Pre-K Program? We use the Creative Curriculum developed by Teaching Strategies, Inc. and approved by Bright from the Start, Georgia Department of early care and learning. It combines the latest research and the freshest ideas into a forward-thinking approach to learning-one that makes learning exciting and relevant for every child in the classroom.
Waiting List: A waiting list is established for those who want to get into the pre-k program at Ola Academy if space becomes available. We no longer take names over the phone, you must come in person to fill out a waiting list form. We strongly recommend you put your child's name on the waiting list since availability is always possible (but not guaranteed) throughout the year.
Private Pre-K: Limited space is available in our private Abeka pre-k program. If your child is enrolled in the Abeka program, you will have an option to enroll in the Georgia pre-k should a spot become available.
When ALL SPOTS HAVE BEEN FILLED in both classes for our Georgia Pre-K program.
We will no longer accept applications for enrollment.
If you would like to put your child's name on the waiting list,
we invite you to come in and fill out the pre-k waiting list form.
In the event a spot opens up, we will refer to the waiting list on a first come first serve basis.
